Browsed MT to see if there are any yachts of interest in port this weekend...

Discovered "One Fine Tolly". (a quick perusal MT of Google will turn up a pic...)

Feeling sorry that I browsed MT today. o_O

This is a painful Broward to look at. It started life as "I Lorraine" before that abomination up top was welded on...

Not all rogues are old. This new 95' Sunseeker looks like a collage of bad design elements...

Mystere was a good looking vessel when delivered. The Kenyan Penthouse look refit took place in 1993 at Derecktors with the addition of extended overhangs on the boat deck and tons of very expensive stainless and glazing work. This boat has quite the history once in this owners hands as customs seized some Ivory and endangered African fur pelts off of the vessel in Ft. Lauderdale. For the last five years or so she was part of the Natita fleet and used as an apartment moored in the Dominican Republic. Best part about this boat were the multiple ceiling fans installed on the overheads outside. They seem to be missing these days...

Pic two is the Acadia 85 that was supposed to set the world on fire a few yrs. ago with "new technology" It has 5 or 6 kw worth of photovoltaic cells in the coach top and can run all systems from inverters except of course the air conditioning. The entire salon and wheel house overheads are glass photo cells. Difficult to cool the boat so the builder has a U.S. specification that calls for a chiller in the 200,000 BTU range. The barge that the 85 will have to tow behind it carrying the needed batteries for AC is optional...

I saw the boat in photo 1, just North of Staniel Cay about a week ago. There is NO way it is really sea worthy with that giant contraption on the top of it.

I'm not completely opposed to change, such as the cab-forward designs of late but IMO, ISA has taken this too far...
