  1. 65th Edition Of Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS)
News coming out from the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) tends to be not as forthcoming typically because many large announcements are usually made at the Monaco Yacht Show which is held the month prior. Many yards focus their reveals, new designs/concepts and sale news for then. However here are a couple news items emerging from or being announced in the occasion of this years' FLIBS. Heesen's 67-meter "Sparta" has won the International Superyacht Society’s Design and Leadership Awards in Best Motoryacht above 500 GT and Best Interior Design.
  2. The prestigious International Superyacht Society Design and Leadership Awards has recognized Heesen's brand new 67-meter superyacht "Sparta" as Best Motoryacht above 500 GT and Best Interior Design. The announcement came at the ongoing 65th edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Ruud van der Stroom, CCO of Heesen, stated, "This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the talented men and women at our shipyard. Their craftsmanship and unwavering commitment to quality are what set SPARTA apart in the industry".
  3. "These accolades reflect the exceptional craftsmanship and innovative design that define Heesen’s commitment to excellence. We wish to commend all those involved in bringing Sparta to fruition, including our dedicated team and the extended family of subcontractors whose collective efforts made this remarkable vessel possible." Sparta's interiors were formulated by Winch Design. The same studio penned her exterior as well. The Project was originally called 'Avanti' and we saw the design first coming to light back at the 2018 edition of the MYS. Here is a sample of the interior showcasing the principle guest suites.
  4. In terms of further Award news, one of the recently completed Amels 60 hulls "ENTOURAGE" was a finalist at the ISS 2024 Awards announced at the 2024 FLIBS. However, she did not win as is evidenced by the aforementioned Heesen build. ENTOURAGE features exterior design by Espen Øino International. Previously known as Project 'Witchcraft' while under construction, the interior design was owner supplied at that stage revealed as Burdifilek Design interior. Top speed is 15.5-knots with a 4,500 nautical mile range at 13-knots.
  5. Amels also announced that they were displaying their Amels 200 unit "Moonstone". This yacht was completed in 2021 to a design by Tim Heywood. The 60-meter vessel has a 1,015 GT internal volume for her 12 guests accommodating them in 6 cabins. 14 crew are on hand to operate and run the yacht. The interior was the work of Luxury Projects.
  6. Hot off the heels of being revealed at the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) last month, the new Benetti B.Yond 57 model has captured its first sale. The B.Yond 57-meter is the flagship of this particular B.Yond range. On the outside you will find design lines by Igor Lobanov and interiors by the now familiar Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture -a now familiar name with the interiors of the Benetti Oasis line-. Benetti is continuing the Oasis-type options for the stern beach area of the yacht offering 'Air', 'Water' and 'Beach' configuration themes.
  7. The new owner of the first hull has gone with the Beach configuration. For this configuration there will be an approximately 161.8 square-meter beach area that will have a as is the 15 square-meter pool being central to the experience. Additionally, a sliding sofa system will allow the space to be a relaxing one when the tenders and toys are in the water creating a lounge by the water. When the garage and the open beach area are unified the space created is approximately 260 square-meters -an abundance of space enhancing the guest experience-.
  8. Not mentioned on the top ten list (at the aforementioned link) is ICON superyacht "Loon". She is perhaps one of the most recognizable charter super yachts out there thanks to her extensive and constant social-media content presence. She just crossed the Atlantic from the Med and being displayed at the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) and now she is at the 2024 FLIBS as she is for sale.

Besides news coming from the show itself you can look back at some of the largest yachts that are gracing this year's show right here on the digital docks at YF...
