  1. Top Ten Superyachts Anticipated For 2024 FLIBS
The 2024 edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) is nearing and will kick-off at the end of this month running from the 30th of October to the 3rd of November. While you won't see a repeated line up of the recently-concluded Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) there are some impressive superyachts that will be on display for patrons and clients alike to see. YF takes a look at some of the largest superyachts that are expected to be at the 65th hosting of the FLIBS.
  2. So far, the largest superyacht is expected to be the 78.4-meter Abeking & Rasmussen (A&R) "Amaryllis". She is one of three similarly styled superyachts built by the German custom superyacht manufacturer. The other two were "Eminence" and "HBC" (ex. "B2", "C2"). Amaryllis was built in 2011 and last had a major refit in 2022. She is a 12-guest, six stateroom superyacht with an interior volume of approximately 2,108 GT. Both the exterior and interior were done by Reymond Langton.
  3. Next on the list is a 2018 build from Tankoa Yachts. She is the 72-meter "Casino Royale" (ex. "SOLO") and despite being a relatively young superyacht she recently had a comprehensive refit which encompassed her entire exterior being resprayed to the current majority white colour. Francesco Paszkowski Design on the exterior she had her interior originally designed by Margherita Casprini but during that aforementioned refit, the interiors were updated via 21 Quinton Design. She has capacity for 12 guests in 6 cabins with an interior volume totaling 1,541 GT. She is home to around 17 crew members.
  4. Third is a Lurssen that is an active charter yacht. The 65.2-meter "Polar Star" which launched as "Northern Star" back in 2005. Her exterior is the work of Espen Oeino but her interior has been significantly changed. In her last major refit in 2016, the original Pauline Nunns country/Hamptons/Nautical styled interiors were replaced by a more contemporary and chic styling by FM Architettura. She still carries 12 guests in 6 cabins along with a 20 crew complement.
  5. Another Lurssen in "Bella Vita" (ex. "Solemates") is also expected at the show. She was built back in 2010 at a time when Lurssen was still building more frequently in the 60 to 65-meter bracket. Bella Vita is a 60-meter superyacht again with an Espen Eeino exterior but with a Glade Johnson interior. She carries 12 guests in six cabins with a crew of 15. Interior volume is surpasses the 1,000 GT mark boasting 1,218 GT. Her last major refit was in 2022.
  6. "Moonstone" from Amels is one of their 60-meter builds from the Amels Limited Edition 200 line and despite being the same length as Bella Vita she has less volume on the interior. She comes in at 1,015 GT with guest spaces spread across her four decks. Moonstone was built in 2021. The exterior is by Tim Heywood with an interior by an unfamiliar name, Luxury Projects. 6 cabins sleep 12 guests and there is room for up to 14 crew members.
  7. "Unbridled" is a Trinity built back in 2009 and is no stranger to being on display. She is the first yacht in this list coming in under 60-meters with an LOA of 58.2-meters. That means her internal volume drops down to around 803 GT. Regardless, she is still a spacious vessel boasting room for as many as 16 guests in 6 cabins -through pullman berths-. Last known to be refitted in 2019 she has an exterior by Trinity Yachts and an interior by Patrick Knowles.
  8. Another Trinity will be on display of similar length. Coming in at 57.9-meters superyacht "Skyfall" (ex. "Mi Sueno") was delivered in 2010 and has the same styling credentials as the previous yacht (i.e: Exterior by Trinity and interior by Patrick Knowles). However, her interior volume is significantly less allowing 771 GT for the guest experience. With a 12 guest, six cabin layout she will wow her guests with comfortable and flexible interiors. Skyfall was last known to be refitted in 2020.
  9. Another Abeking & Rasmussen superyacht will be on display at FLIBS. The 57.9-meter "AMARAL" (ex. "Lady Sheridan") was built in 2007 but had a major refit in 2016. Despite the previous Trinity having a similar length, AMARAL's interior volume is significantly greater boasting 1,099 GT. Donald Starkey was responsible for both her exterior and interior styling. She has the standard 6 cabin layout for 12 guests. Provision is onboard for 16 crew to run the vessel and take care of the guests.
  10. Here is a superyacht that has changed character since launch. "Starship" was previously known as "My Seanna" and was built in 2001 by Delta Marine as a 48-meter. Presently she is a 56-meter which suggests she had a major refit along the way. She grew to 56-meters via an extensive refit period that lasted a couple years between 2014 and 2017. Carrying 12 guests in 6 cabins she is taken care of by 11 crew. Exterior design is the work of Glade Johnson Design while the interior was a collaboration between Las Olas Design and the aforementioned Glade Johnson.
  11. The 10th yacht you might want to see at this year's show is in the form of a yacht support/shadow yacht. "AXIS" was built in 2016 by Damen Yachting and is a utilitarian type vessel but still has yacht interiors and amenities. The 55.3-meter has its exterior design done in-house by the yard but the interiors are the work of Dupuis Design. Carrying a plethora of tenders and toys as well as supplies she is an ideal yacht accompaniment tool being able to sprint to 20-knots ahead of the mothership.
  12. Number 11 on our Top 10 list is a last minute submission from one of YF's senior members. "Amadeus" was originally built by the German shipbuilder Neue Jadewerft in 1969 as a research vessel, Amadeus was converted into an expedition yacht by Jade Yachts in 2007. Amadeus features exterior design by Reymond Langton Design, with naval architecture penned by Dutch studio Vripack. She has completed all of her major Lloyd’s works and has benefited from routine yard periods, keeping her in pristine condition aesthetically and operationally.
