  1. Best of the Best!
    2019 Monaco Yacht Show

With one day to go until the official start of the 2019 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS), we take a look at the best of the best that is lined up at the show. One of the largest superyacht's actually attending this year's show is not necessarily a brand new vessel but it is one that came to the market very recently and created alot of stir simply because her interior was a closely guarded secret. We speak none other than the "Amadea". This large Lurssen comes in at 106-meters and was completed in 2007 with an exterior by Espen Oeino and an interior by Franscois Zuretti. Some stand-out features onboard include a helipad on the bow, a large swimming pool on the aft main deck, fire pits on the aft decks, jacuzzi, cinema, hammam, sauna, a winter garden. Top speed is near 20-knots with an astonishing 8,000 nautical mile range at a more sedate 13-knots. To learn more, follow the experts on YF...
  2. Another large entrant into the MYS list for this year is also from Lurssen, "TIS". The difference is, TIS is brand-new construction recently delivered by the German bespoke superyacht builder. Stretching 111-meters, with the traditional flag blue hull and accents she is a well-proportioned contemporary looking yacht. The Winch Design firm is responsible for her exquisite design and knowing this designer, it's all in the details. The interior is testament to attention as the journey through the Palace of Versailles or French architectural facets are shown off. Some features onboard include a tea room, two helipads (bow and uppermost aft deck). An indoor cinema, the second helipad can also be converted into an outdoor cinema when not in use. There is a large pool on the upper aft deck, a position not utilized so much for this feature on large yachts. A very detailed and full-size beach club exists on the aft lower deck therefore the tender garage has been moved forward internally in the bow. TIS can roam for 7,000 nautical miles easily and has a top speed near 18-knots. To learn more, follow the experts on YF...

  3. One of the superyachts that will garner significant attention at the show this year is from German yard Abeking & Rasmussen. That's right, we are talking about the brand-new 80-meter "Excellence". This yacht has a design (again) from the Winch studio inside and out and is one of their stand-out deliveries of 2019. Not only is her reverse-bow a talking point but also the sheer amount of glass that was utilized to clad her exterior surfaces. This glazing has allowed a triple deck atrium with stunning views outward to be possible. Two jacuzzis and a pool are on board for owner and guests to enjoy. She is now the 6th yacht to carry the name Excellence. To learn more, follow the experts on YF...

  4. Look out for the Amels 67-meter "Aurora Borealis" ex Project 'Waka'. Onboard facilities include a well-equipped gym, a steam room with aromatherapy system, and a guest elevator. A jacuzzi, beach club, 17-knot top speed with a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12.5-knots. Up to fourteen (14) guests can be slept on board in seven (7) cabins being built to LY3 code and Lloyds Classification. The owner’s stateroom is positioned forward on the main deck, with a forward-facing bed, his-and-hers bathrooms, a dressing room and owner’s study. Two VIP suites are found on the bridge deck, both with en suite bathrooms and large dressing rooms, and then there are four further guest cabins in double or twin configuration on the lower deck. The interior is by Winch Design with a Tim Heywood design.
  5. Italian yard Benetti has the 63-meter "Metis" on show. An interesting exterior is by Giorgio Cassetta with an interior by Bannenberg & Rowell. Features on board include a open deck space on the bow for deck furniture, a beach club on the lower deck aft, internal tender garage in the bow, an enclosed gym on the uppermost deck and jacuzzi. Metis was built as Project 'Balance'. Twelve (12) guests can be slept easily across eight cabins. 5,000 nautical range at 12-knots is handy along with a 16-knot top end.

  6. The 55-meter "Severin" from Italian yard Baglietto is also at the show. Paszkowski is on the exterior design with Margherita Casprini on the interior. The yacht is part of the yard's so-called T-Line and is brand new being completed in 2019. There is a swimming pool, a beach club, tender storage in the bow and guest capacity for ten (10) in 5 or 6 cabins.

  7. At 80-meters "Dragon" is up there with the largest yachts on display. She was built and completed in 2019 by Columbus Yachts with an exterior by Hydro Tec and interior by Francesco Guida. There is a 7-meter pool onboard with contra-flow capability to allow endless swimming. A large beach club, hammam, sauna and a guest capacity of fourteen (14) in seven (7) cabins. Top speed is 16.5-knots from her MTU diesels with a range of 6,000 nautical miles when trimmed to a continuous 12-knots.

  8. The first member of the SanLorenzo 64 STEEL family is called "Attila". Guests have five decks to choose from and explore the 1,600 GT on offer aboard the current SanLorenzo flagship. Attila was designed by Officina Italiana Design with an interior by Paszkowski. While she is the largest so far in the steel line, SanLorenzo can build this variant up to 70 meters. Top speed is 17-knots with her pair of CAT 3516C diesels. The interior as a South American feel to it, not surprisingly as the owner hails from the dead south of South America, Argentina.

  9. The 50-meter "RACE" is of notable mention because it is the largest build from the Italian historical yacht builder Riva. Riva is known for Italian quality and tradition on a small scale. RACE is their foray into the superyacht sector. A design by Officina Italiana Design and interior by the same firm, the yacht can sleep twelve (12) in five cabins. An interesting looking vessel with hard lines blending with Riva quality.

  10. "BOLD" is also at the show making her debut appearance. The latest yacht produced by Australian builder SilverYachts BOLD is in one word... different! Espen Oino is once again responsible for the exterior while the interior was handled by VAIN Interiors. The 85-meter flagship of SilverYachts has a top speed of 24-knots and a cruising speed of 18-knots with a very handy 4,500 nautical mile range. As many as eighteen guests can be slept onboard. She was previously known as the Silver LOFT concept while under construction.
