    I was never in love with it...I thought it was a perfect example of what NOT to do on a new build. I'm ready to quit.

    Go to the Yachtworld listing for the boat (see post #6 for a link) and look at the first and third engine room pictures.

    Okay I see it. Wow. Aside from weakening the beam and being unsafe, that seems highly illegal to me.

    Illegal? Not trying to defend the builder but that beam looks like it started out as a 2x8 before the notch and I see a "sister" on the inside that could very well be doubling across the notch thereby restoring the strength. While it seems like the builder made some "modifications" to the deck framing after engine installation I doubt that deck is in danger of failure. I'll be up there in a couple weeks and will see if I can sneak aboard and do a jump test. If my 200+ pounds don't fall through I'll report back my findings! :)

    Naw Illegal,, Insurable would be the enforcing terminology and identity.

    here's the info I found;

    http://waverunnergulfstreamfishing.com/blog/

    I read it described the boat as "Coast Guard inspected" but she is not a subchapter T or S, just a 6-pack. Standard boilerplate ad wording for many charter operations.

    Let's end this thread...there's a tournament every year in Florida where guys build a platform on a huge inner tube's and fish for Marlin and Sailfish...it works...but I wouldn't get in one....same thing as this POS. Let's move on...shall we?
