For those of us who travel to the remote parts of the world, the real beauty of that system is that it routes your cell phone through the iridium network. Also, tablets and smartphones are convenient enough for emails and sms messages, and the data rate is fast enough that this gadget would reduce the amount that I would use or carry a laptop.
