i have the above engines. i have recently noticed a lot of soot on the transom after a couple of hours running and the port engine will not reach full rpm of 2600. 2375 or so is as high as it will go. the starboard engine is fine. any suggestions as to the cause. fuel filters both primary and secondary are new. no apparent blockage of the fuel lies or vents.fuel injector pump recently rebuilt and injectors cleaned.

Have you checked the port propeller?

    Hi,

What condition is the turbocharger in?

I have seen similar with a Volvo years ago and the turbo was found to be goosed.

checked the prop last haulout and it was fine. due for a haul out next month and will check again. haven't checked the turbo as yet. 1265 hrs on the engine. i will check the boost and see if that is o.k.

I had the exact same issue on the same Volvo's. It turned out to be bad air filters. Try removing them completely and running the boat (make sure nothing will get sucked into it).
