Van der Valk is presently building its largest vessel, a 47.8-meter custom yacht known as Project 'Zen'. Here is a look at the vessel under construction as it progresses towards launching in 2027. The Guido de Groot exterior is low-profile and will have a metallic finish. The project actually began as a 36-meters in the initial stages and kept growing in order to fit many of the whims of the owner. It went from 36 to 38 to 40-meters as well as 42-meters and now to 47.8-meters as the final length. The vessel is fitted with a hull Vane of which one of the first applications was on a Heesen yacht called "ALIVE" in 2014. As for Zen, the raised pilot house design now has been joined with its hull. Internal volume has been kept at the 499 GT mark. Top speed should be around 17.5-knots with a range of 4,400 nautical miles. Delivery is anticipated for second quarter of 2028.
