The end of August marked the launching of another Timmerman yacht. The date was August 23rd 2007 and the vessel is a Timmerman 31M. The contract for this new yacht was signed in 2005 and two years later, the vessel launched. The external design and Naval Architecture was done by Ginton Naval Architects from the Netherlands. Interior design matters was handled by another Dutch firm, Guido de Groot Design. This Timmerman has a three-deck arrangement. For optimum balance, a steel hull and aluminum upperstructure was employed. The 31M yacht agrees with stipulations set by the MCA and was supervised by the DNV (Det Norske Veritas). It is said that the interior features two distinct styles of interior design. The upper decks are modeled utilizing Japanese elements whereas, the lower decks are fashioned using classic touches. These are the interior spaces remember. To satisfy the diversity of interior styling onboard the Timmerman 31, the interior decorator utilized a range of woods and semi-precious stones. Some of the woods used include: Wenge, walnuts from Italy and America, Elm, Ash and Anegrie. With 2X CAT diesel engines compiling 950 HP, the Timmerman will do 11.5 knots to an effective range of 2,600 NM.
