    Today i enjoyed the first warm day after a very wet august on a terras in Dordrecht, netherlands when a barge with two tugs past by from the direction Rotterdam to Papendrecht with on the barge the complete upper deck construction of what i believe is the y702.

    This would mean that this part isnt build at Slob, where i guess they were going to.
    Rotterdam might indicate that the structure came by sea (Poland?).

    Any clues here?

    (and no dammit, i didnt make pictures since i havent got a camera on my phone which makes this the second time that i saw a structure like this passing by without making pictures:( :mad: :(

    Yes, i believe what you Tan.. might have seen was 703...because 702 has its upper superstructure for a little while now and is in the covered building shed...

    ok, any clues to where the superstructure was build?

    (p.s. i had my doubts about it being 702 since theres a bit less curvature in this latest superstructure and the back halve of it seems to have less windows in it)

    Nope;
    just checked the oceanco site and it must be the front half of the superstructure of the Y 704, hence the lack of windows at the back.
    I will check at the wharf (Slob) if she's still outside.

    And bummer, no she wasnt so no pictures:mad:

    Strangest thing happened though at the warf;
    theres a portocabine where i expected to find security so i went in there to ask about the superstructure and it turns out that in this portocabine about six people were working on cad-systems, several technical drawings on the wall, mainly Frits de Voogd designs as far as i could tell.
    One of the guys asked me what i wanted, so i told about the superstructure and immediately one of them asked me whether i was Tantetruus!?!:cool:

    Imagine this, writing a small article on an American site and being regognised because of this article in a small town in the Netherlands; small world indeed!

    The superstructure is not an Oceanco, but a de Vries-Feadship.
    My guess is that the superstructure didnt originate in Poland, but comes from Jacht- & scheepswerf Gouwerok B.V.
    Hard to check since they stopped updating their site in 2004....

    Still, very nice people at Slob, and at least one of them very enthousiastic about Yachts since he turns out to be an avid reader of yachtforums:)

    They also showed me a small pile of Feadship folders from Rasselas, High Chapperal, W2, Utopia etc. Exactly the pile i can't get my hands on:(

    It's been an interesting experience that unfortunately i cant go deeper into (made a promise and i tend to keep those).

    So, thanks folks from the Slob-wharf for the warm welcome and i will see you guys again as soon as this @$#% superstructure comes out again:)

    She is a beauty. Quite similar to the new Amevi (ex Y701). What colour is the hull though? Is it black along with the mast. It looks exactly colour wise as to the rendering, which is good. Thanks for the pic.

    Colour

    It is as black as black can be. Deep black, so beautifull.
