hydro Congratulations on a simply stunning boat - Ive just totally rebuilt a 1938 26ft "Enclosed" ChrisCraft here in the UK. I want to have "engine turned" lettering on the transom but cant find anyone capable of doing it the "old" way with real gold leaf, nor can I find a supplier of the Vinyl version. Did you have your lettering done with gold leaf or with vinyl letters and if so can you give me details of the supplier? best david
"Nero" with what looks to be a Wallypower 64 alongside her...interesting, never saw that before! http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=1322050#
Hi, If you can order it from the US just Google: Engine Turned Lettering. You will get a lot of links to many companies that offer the real thing and the vinyl alternative.

Some of you may be interested in this 45 minute video following the construction of a Van Dam classic. It really shows the care and craftmanship that goes into a wooden boat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L61Ip-OhOlw&feature=related
Running hot? And a fine one at that. Still, we have questions about the cooling system. (see beeloww). Cheers! -E (samethingkilledmyportsidemotorsideliningus4overayearnotgood)
When I was growing up there were still quite a few of the old Century's and Chris Craft's on the lake. Unfortunately, over time, nearly all of them sank and were surfaced and then hauled off to junk yards. Most of the owners had not purchased them based on them being classics although there were some owners who had held them for years. However, many owners were younger and had bought them because they were cheap old boats. So, to them, their value was only in their use. They bought them typically for under $1000 and when they leaked and sank, just got rid of them. You never saw them restored around there at that time. I'm sure many people now wishing they had that old boat back to restore. Now a couple of Century's restored on the lake. I'm not aware of any Chris Craft's although probably are some.
I just saw a picture of her in Greenwich. She still looks great, except for the fact that the new owners have installed underwater lights. That is as bad as putting spinning rims on a vintage Bugatti! Best, Maldwin
"Atlantide" is presently at Royal Huisman for a refit period. The refit is supposed to be year-long at Huisfit. Come Spring 2022 she should be back sailing the oceans again.
Here is the most recent classic yacht...this one is called "Far Niente" built by SES Yachts in 2024. She is around 32.7-meters and built to resemble a 1900s period yacht.
...but as you can see the interiors are far from being totally classic and traditional. Photos by Steve Turvey.
She needs a much nicer interior,....perhaps it could be added like what I was suggesting in my Pilgrim 40 re-design discussion https://www.trawlerforum.com/thread...-trawler-canal-boat.11212/page-14#post-514122
MOD EDIT: Broken link removed From the looks of the hull's underwater shape, I suspect she will roll very easily
