We hauled Vigorous and did a ton of work this winter: - stripped and painted bottom - new sea valves - pulled shafts , verified true, serviced props, etc. - installed new transducers for all new Simrad electronics - packed rudders - new shaft seals Basically inspected, serviced or overhauled everything from the deck edge down. Just finished our first fishing trip of the season
I have outriggers for it but I took them off and put them is storage. I wouldn't use them up here and they are just in the way. I also removed the big live well that was in the center of the cockpit when I bought the boat. It's in staorage as well.
Vigorous is hull number 5 of the Z-54's. I believe there were only 6 of these built. The boat was brought to So. California from Florida in 2008. I bought it early last year and at the time it was named Tiger Shark II. Previous name was Mr. T's and I have the original name somewhere but not with me currently. I shipped the boat to Victoria, BC then ran it to her new home in Ketchikan, Alaska. The boat has had a lot of custom features added: - additional 8kw gen set and retains original 20kw - custom refer/freezer above the galley range - reworked interior sofa, settee and pop-up tv, electronics, etc - eskimo ice machine for fish box I have done a lot of work since last year - new Maxwell windlass and rode - rebuilt refer/freezer front and doors - all new Simrad electronics, AP, radar and 3 (ea) NSS 12" touch screens - new cockpit freezer system capable of -10 degrees - installed tempered glass windshields and wipers on flybridge - new downriggers and power in cockpit for salmon trolling - new dedicated 12v batteries for DDEC fed from 24v alternators - replaced all fuel lines on both engines and gens - we've been through every system on the boat and either brought maintenance current or repaired as necessary. The boat was neglected for the last several years.
