I thought I'd seen just about everything the Ocean could offer up..until now. http://www.grindtv.com/lifestyle/in-style/post/frozen-waves-captured-nantucket-surf-photos/ I now understand why Boaters in the North East put their boats in storage for the Winter!
Only hardened Post owners can still brave such elements. Check Rubys Plan and always ready mods to a real ship. Naw, Post (maybe some Bertrams) don't need no stinkin hill storage.....
Wouldn't that icy slush tend to clog the sea strainers, at least temporarily? I know one thing, I wouldn't run my RO unit.
Lets see, removal of suspended solids,, salt, sediment, light particles and with a UV light filter followed by coal,,, most everything,,,,, BUT ICE. Gad I hate ice. Have not had ice in ANY drink in over 30 years. Drives the bar maids crazy. But then they talk to me for a while (good plan),,,,.
Oh it's not so bad. I've been riding my Harley for the last 3 days. I watched an episode of Deadliest Catch awhile ago. As the Wizard was going out Dutch Harbor inlet one of his motors ingested ice and lost power. Looked like they got to within 100' of the rocks when the cap got the idea to shut the motor in hopes that the ice would fall out, and it did. Really tense. The one thing I'm wondering about though is the NYC Waterway taxis. Those things have Aluminum hulls, and they're plowing through ice. Granted it's broken up, but there are some serious chunks out there and a lot of it. Next week 40's. rcraps, No ice here either. Got in the habit in Ireland back in the 60's, where you couldn't get ice in a drink if you begged for it.
