I have just joined this forum (the first forum of any sort that i have ever joined...) in the hope that someone here can help point me in the right direction for some information on the engines of my boat: a 37½ ft motor yacht built by C Van Lent & Zonen in 1963. The engines are as originally installed: Peugeot Indenor type XDP 6.85's. I have the manual of maintainance and operating instructions for these, but this is based on 4,000rpm setting - whereas i have found out that Van Lent adjusted the engines on installation to give 60hp at 3,000rpm. What i need to know (for the purpose of calculating the correct propeller size for my boat) is whether this is the maximum rpm figure(?) Also, how do i find out other information, such as the boat's displacement(?) My thanks in advance to anyone who can help me......
