Reverse Bows (and lots of smoke) Perhaps those 'modern' designers of today could get some ideas here? Color Ghosts of Russian Greatness | English Russia
Guess this never became a popular subject thread.? I recently did a search on this forum for any subject thread that contained the word 'warship' in it. This is the only one I found !!...surprised. I recently found a great old photo book of "Battleships". Haven't had a chance to look thru it yet, but I am looking forward to it. Meantime I saw this updated photo of the LCE tri-hull variant,...a new 'frigate version'. I really think the Navy should give serious considerations to this variant over that tired, outdated design presented by Lockheed. Here is an interesting article I found: Uncharted waters: US Navy still searching for path to a bigger fleet http://www.defensenews.com/articles...vy-still-searching-for-path-to-a-bigger-fleet
The funny thing about those "reverse bows" is that they eventually went away from them for well known negative attributes, and yet here we see them springing back to life in yachts as well as the Military: What goes around comes around, but is it really a design advance, a look to nostalgia or just a lazy design queue from the past?
This PT Boat was at our marina for a while. It had been used as an oyster seeding boat out of Tilghman Island at that time and had a pair of 671's in her. I remember when they trucked her away to be restored and then lost track of her. I believe the boat was shortened up when used for seeding. Now she is back.
