found some pics on the net. shows the submarine garage upclose as well as the toy boxes.
WOW great pictures. You really did get close and personal!
Nope, it wasn't me. I wish I was though.
they are good pictures though.
Has anyone ever seen the interior of Octopus?
Yes, I have seen the interior of "Octopus". It was in the PDF-file of the Superyacht society. But this is not longer allowed, because Mr. Paul Allen want privacy. We should respect this. I don't have the PDF-file more on my hard drive.
Thanks for the pics, very impressive!
i have seen most of those pics alreayd but it is no doubt that they are impressive. I like the one with all her main bay doors opened...she has alot of doors in her hull!
No matter how times I see pics of her, she blows me away every time.
Wild! I wasn't aware that the hull side ports were stacked on two levels!
Quite the engineering achievement. Some of the drawings and stress analyses around those hatches are probably framed and up on someone's wall and still causing satisfied smiles.
Anyone have any idea of how many engineering total man hours went in to the creation of Octopus?
Some time ago I came across a BBC production about the aircraft carrier Ark Royal at which Octopus was used as a dive robot base. You can see some interior shoots when the veterans talk about their memories and although the preperation for a dive. I don't know the title any more.
