News: Westport Unveils Bold 172 Endeavour

172 Endeavour Model Unveiled By Westport Yachts

American builder Westport Yachts utilized the opportunity at the ongoing 2026 edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) to unveil a new model. However, the new model is not quite what you might expect from the Westport brand. The 172 Endeavour is the name of that new model and yes it is similar in length as their current largest offering - the W172-. However, the key difference is that the 172 Endeavour has been designed as an adventure stye and purposed yacht with the key advantage of being “twice the pace of a typical explorer.”

"Twice the pace of a typical explorer". This means that the top speed and fast cruising speed for the 172 Endeavour is 21.5-knots and 19-knots respectively. This is a capability that most vessels in this category do not possess. While the Dutch-built Lynx Yachts YXT based models are significantly smaller than the Westport 172 Endeavour, they still do not operate any faster than 16-knots.

In terms of the design, the drawn lines on the exterior is the work of MW Yacht Design while on the interior Verge Yacht Design is responsible. Onboard there is spacious living with an estimated 463 GT available to guests. Guest accommodation is actually for 10 in a 5 cabin layout. Given that the superstructure is mainly forward on this model, the aft main deck is open for the ability to carry tender and toys. In fact, the main tender carried can be in the 12-meter region. Once this tender is launched to the water, the area then becomes entertaining space.

Touching more on the guest accommodation with the 5 cabin layout there are three doubles and a twin located on the lower deck while the master suite is located on the forward main deck. All guest cabins have ensuite facilities giving each room their own autonomy. Crew accommodation is also found on the lower deck giving crew a mess area, laundry area and room for five cabins all in the midships to forwared area of the lower deck.
