  1. Van der Valk "Jangada 2" Build Update
With the 32-meter raised pilothouse (RPH) currently in very advanced stages of construction at Dutch yard Van der Valk, the owner is becoming more anxious and ready for delivery towards the middle of the year. The yacht is expected to be christened "Jangada 2" and will be the flagship of their custom line. Van der Valk says she will be delivered in May 2019.
  2. While the exterior is the work of Guido de Groot the interior is a study of contemporary elements melding with a minimalist concept. European white-washed Oak features prominently in the interior spaces as seen in the main salon render below. In terms of accommodation, Jangada 2 will be sleeping eight guests across a four cabin layout. It appears the master suite is full-beam and on the lower deck, while the VIP is in the forward on-deck position. Up to three other cabins are available on the lower deck.
  3. Jangada 2 is fitted with a pair of MTU 12V2000 M96L marine diesels. Sea trials will confirm what her top speed is but it has been calculated at 23-knots. Jangada 2 is the fifth motoryacht in their custom-series line and the largest to date. They can build the RPH series up to 40-meters if requested. This new yacht is being built for a repeat client of the Van der Valk yard. Jangada 2 will carry more crew than their previous boats so together with the captain they paid significant attention to the accommodations. Lots of work also went into the galley as they optimized the functional area under the raised pilothouse.
