  1. Doggersbank Comes Back With 77 Offshore
The traditional lines of the Doggersbank may well be back at least through another model, the Doggersbank 77 Offshore. This model designed by Vripack has been sold. It may have traditional tug-like explorer lines but this vessel will be cutting-edge in its operations, interiors and drive means. The vessel will be hybrid and feature modern contemporary interiors. Additionally, Delivering the best of both worlds, the 23.50-meter Doggersbank 77’ is the largest model that can be self-piloted without requiring a captain’s license. However, provision can be made for a two-crew arrangement if needed.
  2. Ordinarily the Doggersbank 77 Offshore is expected to sleep six guests in three cabins including two full-beam doubles. This owner has a 4-cabin layout with a full-beam master suite, VIP and two twins. The vessel sits just below the 24-meter mark -purposely- to maximize onboard space without needing to adhere to larger yacht regulations. The yacht is being built at the Altena Yachting Shipyard.
  3. With a beam of 20-feet and the substantial overhang above the aft cockpit area, room is created to stow a tender as large as 17-feet across the beam in that area. A dedicated crane handles the heavy-lifting and this arrangement keeps the aft sun deck largely free. A step or two up takes you to the forward flybridge area. The design caters for use of a hard top or an owner can choose leave it open perhaps add a fold-away Bimini instead.
  4. The standard engine setup calls for 2 x 250 / 186 KWT engines. This would power the vessel to a top speed of 11.25-knots. At 8-knots cruising speed, the Doggersbank 77 Offshore will have a range of 3,000 nautical miles with 20,000 LT of fuel. However, the owner of this vessel appears to have chosen a single engine hybrid setup. The fitment of a single engine PTO/PTI hybrid propulsion system is believed to be the first of the Doggersbank brand. It will enable the boat to cruise silently on batteries for up to two hours at 6-knots with a fuel burn of just 50 liters per hour.
