UK builder Sunseeker was at the recently concluded Boot Dusseldorf and they used the event to introduce the new Predator 74 which will be coming to market this year. For those who have followed Sunseeker for a while, the Predator name brings back memories of the 108-foot boats they were making but this 74 is of a totally different styling to the former.

The Predator 74 is promising alot, a top speed of 40-knots using MANs. The more powerful MAN V12 1,900 horse power engines should provide the power to get her to the 40-knot barrier but the more standard and slightly less powerful MAN V12 1,550 horse power plants will ensure a 35-knot top-end speed. Perhaps one of the biggest changes comes in the heavy use of glass throughout the boat. This is typically where most boats under the 100-foot threshold are going. Below, even the Predator 50 benefits from the increased use of glass.

The Predator 74 incorporates the full glazing on the front of the superstructure not just for the windshield. The glazing extends aft by two full panes into the forward saloon roof. Fantastic connection with the outdoors even in the saloon aft as the side glazing further complements. Onboard there can be a three or four cabin layout depending on what the owner wants. A cool feature that has been highlighted is the cockpit door. This door can open conventionally as well as lower into the sole of the yacht. Therefore, the yacht can have the feel of a more 'Open' yacht in warmer temperatures or a fully enclosed yacht in much colder climes. The Predator 50 also made it's unveiling at the Boot Dusseldorf 2018.
