Every now and then YF comes across an interesting design. While trimarans are not designs that dominate the yachting scene the way monohulls and catamaran hulls do, they still have their place. There are been a few trimaran platforms for varying sizes that have been delivered to clients over the years. The most notable specimens were "Galaxy of Happiness", "Adastra", "White Rabbit" sisters and "Pilar Rossi". Silura Marine is now presenting a 25-meter trimaran yacht that is designed to make swift passages across the ocean.

While cruising at approximately 20-knots, the vessel is expected to have a range of around 2,000 nautical miles in calmer sea states. Dial her back to 12-knot speed and the range extends to an estimated 5,000 nautical miles. This performance is being derived from her hydrodynamic hull forms and a single Cummins 280 horse power engine. Included in the design is a bow-mounted kite sail to be used in ideal conditions to help extend the yachts range a little.

The yacht's construction will be in E-glass and vinylester. There will be carbon fiber elements for reinforcement in critical areas and a PVC foam coring. The entire roof of the superstructure is to be covered in flexible and durable solar panels that allow you to be able to walk on them if you need to go on the roof to do equipment maintenance. Together the array of photovoltaics combine for approximately 7kW capacity. These will feed into 44kWh battery bank storage.

This capacity will allow the vessel to serve its hotel loading in good conditions without the need for running the generator. This is ideal for overnight silent operations without the noise of the generator running. The vessel's design is predominantly in the main hull while the other two hulls serve as stabilizing 'arms' and do not have any useful interior volume for guest use. While the interior is compact it is of a compact design with sensible open-plan layout to maximize the available volume. The yard suggests the yacht can be delivered 15 months from contract signing.
