Seaver Yachts has burst on to the yachting scene with a large offering that encompasses a new 5-model range. The new range covers yachts that are suitable for owner operation all the way up to 30-meter vessels that would have a permanent crew. However, YF is looking at the Nordic 80 - one of the larger offerings in this new range from Seaver Yachts-.

The 5 model line-up is divided into two segments. One called the Nordic range and the other the Azure range which essentially categorizes the yachts under two intended styles of cruising. The Nordic Range comprises of the 20-meter Nordic 65 and the 24-meter Nordic 80 that is being examined in this article. The Nordic range as the name might suggest is for owners who want to cruise in colder climes. On the other hand, the Azure range takes in Azure 65, Azure 80 and current flagship Azure 95.

The Nordic 80 is the larger of the two specimens in the Nordic Range. This is being marketed to interested owners who endeavours cruising in colder regions of the world. However, it could be for clients who simply want to run longer cruising. Large retractable sunroof on the Nordic 80 allows for overhead natural lighting to penetrate the space without compromising on the weather-tight interior atmosphere in colder climes. Seaver describes the concept as creating a villa-like atmosphere where owners can remain comfortable throughout longer passages regardless of the weather outside.

The Nordic 80 is a 24-meter platform that has a decent cruising range of approximately 750 nautical miles using a pair of Volvo Penta D13s. The top speed is reportedly closer to the 30-knot range. The 80 also increases tender carrying capability through a 950 kilogram hydraulic platform. This is the advantage over the Nordic 65 as the capacity on that platform nearly doubles on the Nordic 80 as compared to the Nordic 65.
