News: Progress On 27M MotorYacht "Freedom"

27-meter Custom Motoryacht "Freedom" Build Progress

Last year YF told you about this yacht that is presently under construction at CCN called "Freedom". Now we can report the progress of this in-build yacht. The yacht is designed inside and out by Tomaso Spadolini. Of course, the well-known owner will have a hand on the interior design aspects too as he is a fashion designer -the Cavalli- effect. The yacht is going to be a true speedster with an anticipated 40-knot top figure. Three waterjets will power this 27-meter planing vessel to blistering speeds when completed.

The yacht was sold in May of 2017 and now is being fashioned in all-aluminium for her completion time period of Summer this year. The brief for the design was simple. It is a harmony between keeping the connection to the sea without compromising the privacy that the owner wishes to keep maintained when onboard. The brief although simple may-not exactly be the most straightforward aspect to the design.

The yacht is progressing well in construction with the majority of the aluminium work done on the hull and the superstructure has been installed as well as the waterjets. An interesting feature onboard includes an exterior social cockpit on the aft main deck outside of the salon. This area is going to be screened-off to enhance the privacy that Mr. Cavalli wants but still allows for him and guests to feel outdoors. There is going to be an external helm position on the upper deck for easy of navigation in tight areas. Freedom will have tender storage on the foredeck. Accommodation will be in three-cabins with two guest cabins on the lower deck and the owner's suite main deck. Delivery is anticipated for Summer 2018.
