84 Revolution By Ocean Alexander Later This Year

Expect the 84R (Revolution) from American Builder Ocean Alexander later this year. This is when the yard plans to present it at the 2019 edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). It was only last year at the same FLIBS that Ocean Alexander displayed the OA90R, the slightly larger sibling. There are some key differences between the two models especially regarding styling and superstructure arrangement. The window design sculpting is certainly different on both models and offer striking visual references.

The OA90R has a relatively straight bow too but the 84R appears to add a cabin in the bow as is seen by the glass work in the bow. Midships they offer more glazing to enhance the principal cabin(s). Not surprisingly the exterior design is by Evan K Marshall who we can see working on the OA90R as well. The upper deck flybridge is where the navigation is done from as the OA84R visualization video shows the forward main deck area outfitted with a panoramic lounge and nook area with access to the lower deck.

Propulsion will be provided via a pair of MAN diesels, two MAN V12 1650 horse power marine diesels. At this stage the performance figures have not been made public. At around 25.45-meters (83.6-feet) in length the new OA84R will have a beam of 6.29-meters which takes her just over 20-feet. She will feature similar Beach club in the aft with the glassed-in stern as the OA90R. The OA90R Beach club is pictured below. The OA84R is now the second model in the Revolution series and you can look forward to seeing her at 2019 FLIBS.
