In the past, commuter yachts were often the mode of transportation used by wealthy tycoons to transit between home and work. French-based Ocea Yachts has been making commuter-styled yachts for decades and their boats usually are designed to give a nod to past commuter designs. The Ocea Commuter 50 is a stylish 50-meter all-aluminum yacht that does not stray from the classic Ocea Commuter lines of past yachts. This yacht will be capable of carrying twelve guests in six cabins and a crew of ten. Top speed will be 18-knots when demanded and a comfortable 15-knot cruise speed to extend the operational range. However, if meaningful range is what you need out of the Commuter 50, then at a continuous 10-knots, the yacht can roam for 5,000 nautical miles. She is envisioned to be powered by 2 x 1 700 bhp engines sipping from 57,000 LT. The 290 tonne yacht would be certified Lloyd’s Register/MCA. 50-meters is the LOA with a decent 8.65-meter beam and shallow 2.20-meter draft allowing her to anchor very near to shore.

Aboard the OCEA Commuter 50, twelve guests can make the most of the spacious upper lounge with full-length windows, the Easy Boarding lateral boarding system for dinghies, the optional sun lounge on the forward deck, or even a totally private sun deck complete with jacuzzi. In order to preserve the sleek lines of the Commuter 50, the tenders are stored internally. This yacht can carry a tender with a length up to 10-metres! The PWCs/jet skis are also stored below deck. This effort not only maintains the beautiful lines of the yacht but also serves to shield the tender and toys from elements. As an option, the Commuter 50 can have a helipad on the rear deck.
