News: Nordhavn Launches 46 MK II

The Nordhavn 46 MK II that YF has been following through its construction has now been launched according to builder. It is the first hull in this model and it was launched yesterday at the South Coast factory. “It’s a pretty historic milestone,” said Nordhavn salesman James Leishman, whose clients are purchasing hull #1.

The 46 MK II can be seen as an upgraded and modern version of the original N46. “Thirty-seven years ago, the original N46 was launched by this very factory. After that boat splashed, a new phenomenon in adventure boating was born. We expect equally exciting things to happen following the launch of this re-imagined 46”, Leishman continued.

In the coming weeks, the interior will be completed and then N46#1 will undergo more rigorous sea trials. The boat is slated to ship to Dana Point, CA mid-summer where final commissioning will take place. The owners will undergo training and then spend the remainder of the year cruising California and head south to Mexico. Then a new generation is set to continue the legacy of the N46.
