News: New Order For Van der Valk 28M Explorer

28-meter Van der Valk Explorer Yacht Ordered

Dutch builder Van der Valk has announced that they received an order for a 28-meter explorer yacht. The yacht represents the third yacht in their Explorer line. Van der Valk says that the yacht is being built for a repeat client of the yard. The customer has a Van der Valk yacht presently and it only required them to enjoy it for one season to know that an explorer yacht from the builder was next in their scope.

Previous explorer yachts from Van der Valk include the "Dutch Falcon" and the "Santa Maria T". Van der Valk says that her construction will be entirely be in aluminium, allowing the yacht to remain lighter than if steel was utilized on the hull. Moreover, she will have good performance thanks to a semi-displacement hull, lighter weight and a pair of diesel MAN V12 1,650 horsepower engines. The top speed is expected to be in the 20-knot region.

A pair of 32Kw Northern Lights generators will be onboard to keep the power production for the hotel load and otherwise running smoothly and ensure owner and guests alike are comfortable. The angular shapes and hard lines give the Van der Valk 28-meter explorer a rugged look and come Spring 2020, the owner is expected to take possession of this latest installment in Van der Valk's explorer line. The owners are eager to run trans-Atlantic or Pacific with their new yacht.
