News: New Nordhavn MotorSailer Under Construction

Nordhavn Building First New MotorSailer In 10 Years

Nordhavn is currently building a yacht that in-it-self is very normal for this yard. However, this particular vessel is a MotorSailer which is one of those models that Nordhavn does not regularly build. In fact, this hull that was recently released from the mold is one of less than 12 motoryachts with a mast built by Nordhavn. It represents the first N56 MotorSailer to be build in a decade.

This one being built for new owners who hail from Prague, Czechia. Nordhavn’s Motorsailer has always been hailed for uniquely and perfectly melding its two pedigrees together: Nordhavn long range motor yachts and Mason cruising sailboats. Some standard stats were LWL: 52' 6" / 16.00-meters, overall beam of 16' 7" / 5.05-meters and a draft of 7' 00" / 2.13-meters. The standard MotorSailer from Nordhavn displaces 95,000 lbs or 43.09 metric tonnes. Powered by the proven Lugger 1066 T diesel engine, a top cruising speed of 9 knots will be possible. The rugged Lugger drives a 36-inch four-bladed controllable pitch Hundested propeller and offers unparalleled flexibility of operation. When conditions dictate, the propeller can be fully feathered to enhance sailing performance. Below is an image of the newest MotorSailer hull being released from the mold.
