  1. XPM 78 Power Cat By Naval Yachts
Naval Yachts located in Turkey is currently working to finish up their 78-foot Power Cat from their XPM series. The vessel is currently nearing completion and is expected to be finished by June of this year if all goes to plan. The 24-meter craft has exterior design as well as Naval Architecture by Michael Schutte who has decided to give her a gun alloy paint finish instead of leaving the aluminium hulls exposed to the elements as is sometimes the practice by other builders.
  2. The interior on the other hand is expected to feature a modern Scandinavian feel. These interiors were penned by Karine Rousseau who's main objective in the design process was to bring forth certain points of comfort, class and wide room for entertainment and socializing. Space is generally not an issue with the wide footprint of catamaran hulled vessels. They offer more room to work with, especially in the social spaces like the salon.
  3. The spaces in the hull may be a bit tighter as there is only so much room within the hulls. Speaking of the hulls, the XPM 78 Power Cat will be able to accommodate eight (8) guests in four (4) cabins. The yard suggests that there will be two master level suites onboard as well as two VIP category cabins. While the hulls are not that light-filled only sporting small portlights in the hullsides, the main deck areas are filled with natural lighting thanks to a wealth of glass used in the superstructure.
  4. The superstructure upper surfaces are fitted with a total of 50 square meters of photovoltaic cells which are used to help reduce the yacht's carbon footprint but also to charge her lithium battery banks. The photovoltaic cells are expected to produce 75 kilowatts of power daily which should be sufficient for her hotel load. It appears the standard version of this vessel will be carrying diesel engines but an owner can make this vessel utilizing a hybrid setup.
  5. One of the special features about this vessel is the main aft deck has dual levels. The main saloon has two levels to it, not necessarily double height but features an elevated position within the same space offering a different perspective to guests from this space. Coupled with the decor style utilized the space is a modern and chic relaxing area onboard.
  6. The aft main deck is spacious too with dual mirrored seating areas with tables. Overlooking here is where the main tender is stored hanging from two custom davits easily being deployed and recovered between the two hulls. Each hull has its own swim platform which is sizable to conduct water-line level activities. As a result of having the tender davits there is no need to have a hydraulic center platform.
  7. Naval Yachts XPM line is relatively new with it spanning monohulls as well as cat hulled craft. This particular one is the 78-foot Power Cat offering. The yard already has a monohulled XPM 78 launched and completed last year. The XPM 78 Power Cat will join the the other one in service when it is expected to be launched and completed by mid-year.
