MCC unveils new 46-meter expedition design The new MCC 46-meter design is retro in nature with classic hints. Envisioned to be built with a steel hull and a composite GRP superstructure, the vessel offers a range of possibilities. She is Lloyds Register and expected to be MCA compliant. On the interior, accommodation is set out for ten guests. One master and one VIP type cabin exist on the main deck. On the lower deck, three guests cabins sleep the other six guests. Tenders are stored out of the way on the bow and in the lazarette leaving clutter-free open decks, which can be outfitted with a myriad of outdoor furniture options. Technically the new MCC 46-meter expedition will have two power package options. The first is a twin 1,600 horsepower CAT set up. The other option is with a 1,911 horsepower engine. A range over 5,500 nautical miles at about 10 knots is anticipated and a top speed of just over 16 knots has been calculated. The design of this new yacht is by Kasia Milewska, the same person that worked with the Marco Polo series of yachts. The MCC 46-meter expedition design was just unveiled to the public at the 2011 Palm Beach Boat Show. For more information: Maritime Concept and Construction http://www.mcc-marcopolo.com ***
