  1. Mazu Yachts Offers Steel Displacement Yachts
Mazu Yachts is moving up with new designs being presented. With this progression forward it serves to thrust the builder into the steel displacement sector. The Turkish yard's DS line will be offering three models; the Mazu 92 DS, 112 DS and 132DS. The Mazu 92 DS will be the first to be built while the others will follow subsequently. The design of the vessels inside and out is by Red Yacht Design.
  2. Halit Yukay who is Mazu's founder suggested that metal construction was inherently safer and has other positive attributes. "In my professional opinion, for reasons of safety, comfort and resale value, a displacement hull should be built of steel or aluminium… as with our carbon composite models, we wanted to offer the market something new, and if you look at her exterior lines, I think you’ll agree the 92 DS is certainly different!" The Mazu 92 DS will be home to up to eight (8) guests in four cabins.
  3. The first hull of the Mazu 92 DS is already underway with the steel keel laid at this point. It appears the yard will be employing composite construction for the superstructure. From the renderings you can see there is a wide adoption of glazed surfaces. This should offer the interior a sense of connection to the outside world as it whisks by. The Mazu 92 DS will be powered by triple Volvo Penta engines which would mark the first time these engines have been fitted to a steel hull. The first hull is expected to go to a Turkish owner in the Summer of 2022. Previous to the 92DS the flagship was the Mazu 82.
