News: Lurssen Launches 146M Superyacht "OPERA"

The 146-meter superyacht "OPERA" has been launched to the water by Lurssen. The name may sound familiar as this was the project name being utilized in the last few years. It is believed that OPERA is the rebuilt superyacht from the catastrophic 2018 fire of what was then known as project 'Sassi'. We last had a glimpse of this vessel over a year ago where the bare-metal vessel moved into the floating drydock for finishing. Superyacht video enthusiast Drduu was on site for the launch and took the following image after the launch.

Lurssen has managed to once-again keep specific details regarding this build under-wraps. Lurssen has a number of yachts under construction that will launch in the short to medium term. Project 'Luminance' which is 145-meters is expected to be nearing completion along with the 122-meter Project 'JAG' which is slated for delivery in April of 2023. There is also the 90-meter project 1601 - what is thought to be the new "Skat"- was also due for 2022 launch. Also in the works is Project 'Alibaba' but that won't complete until 2025. As for OPERA, with her launching in September it can be expected she will be completed by late 2022 or early 2023. Not alot is known about the secretive superyacht but from the images we can see a few noteworthy features. Two helipads are present on the vessel with the largest on the bow. The aft main deck is home to a large pool with a movable floor to allow for varying depths as well as convert it into a dancefloor or simply for safety when the pool isn't in use. A wellness area and beach club is directly below and forward of this space is the main tender garage.
