News: Lurssen Floats Out 130+M Superyacht "Project 'SHU'

Project 'SHU' Reappears At Lurssen​

Custom superyacht builder Lurssen recently floated out their latest superyacht. It is the body of what has been under construction as Project 'SHU'. The 130-plus meter custom superyacht is nearing completion and left the build hall revealing her grey hull and black boot-line, similar to another Lurssen superyacht, "Radiant".

As is the normal manner of conducting their affairs, Lurssen has released almost no information on this highly confidential project. We are not even sure if the name SHU is what the yard is using themselves as the project name but this is the nature of most Lurssen builds, highly secretive. The last time we saw this superyacht was this time last year and now she has been floated out likely with a delivery date in 2018.

The yacht appears to have at least five decks above the waterline. A yacht this size will have at least 1 helipad possibly two but this is only speculation at this stage. She has one or two design features that appear quite reminiscent of the 110-meter "Radiant", coincidence? YF will definitely be keeping an eye on this one as she continues her fitout and preparation for sea trials next year. All photos taken by Dr Duu.
