  1. More On The Largest Sportfisher In The World
The current largest sportfish yacht in the world is a vessel called "Lanakai". At 39.5-meters she holds the distinction of being the largest carbon sportfisher in the world. Built for an experienced owner who loves adventure and mean angling but also a passion for the finer things in life. If the New Zealand-built Lanakai didn't impress you enough, how about a 50-meter sportfish build that is currently underway in The Netherlands.
  2. Project 406 was signed towards the end of 2020 and is expected to be completed by 2023. She is being built in aluminium (alustar) for the hull. Vripack are the Naval Architects as well as responsible for the exterior and interior design. The world has never seen a sportfish yacht on this scale and therefore it will be quite unique as well as sprawling across at least five decks. It is safe to say this yacht will have the regular amenities you would expect from any large sportfisher. There is a skylounge which functions as an alternative room to the main salon but also as a good vantage spot to watch a fishing battle. On the bow there is a substantial al-fresco area for guests which is something you generally do not see on sportfishers. The foredeck tends to be home to the tender and a crane.
  3. At 52-meters or 171-feet long it is hard to believe that vessel will be constructed for the purpose of deep-sea fishing. For now the yard is holding on to detailed information regarding the build but they suggest in due time more details will be released. This exceptional high-speed motor yacht will proudly become the world’s largest true Sportfish Yacht, with her towering profile accommodating six decks. Look out for this vessel in 2023.
