News: Golden Yacht's 78M "O'Rea" Launched

78-meter Superyacht "O'Rea" Launched

Towards the end of 2022 YF published an article on the in-build 78-meter "O'Rea". https://www.yachtforums.com/threads/news-golden-yachts-78m-superyacht-orea-in-build.36826/ . That superyacht has now been launched. Sporting an exterior design by Studio Vafiadis with its characteristic plumb bow as well as an interior by Studio Massari. The interior volume is a healthy 1,596 GT spreading over four decks above the waterline. Golden Yachts with their last few launches have presented designs that are a bit uncharacteristic. "Project X", "O'Neiro" and O'Rea are all different from what this yard usually builds. O'Neiro was launched at the end of 2022 and should be near delivery by now.

O'Rea will be on display at the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) as the showpiece from Golden Yachts. Features onboard include health bar that then expands into other noted wellness rooms like a spa, sauna, massage room and hammam. On the aft main deck there is the yacht's main pool which has three large skylights in the bottom to filter natural light into the beach club directly below.

"Going up the staircase that connects the various decks, one is struck by many refined details and precious materials, including polished marble steps, decorated and backlit vertical paneling, chandeliers that penetrate the stairwell from the upper deck to the main deck with a polished champagne-coloured metal structure and glass elements with three-dimensional patterns and different colour gradients," commented Studio Massari. In terms of performance, O'Rea is powered by a pair of CAT marine diesels along with a Dynamic Positioning System (DPS), a feature found on much larger superyachts and cruise ships.
