  1. CLB80 Announced At 2023 FLIBS
The CLB line is taking off from CL Yachts and they used the 64th edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) to unveil their latest addition to the CLB line, the CLB80. Not surprisingly, the design is by Jozeph Forakis who is no stranger to working with CL Yachts. If you remember the yard showcased their flagship CLX96 at last year's FLIBS and YachtForums wrote an in-depth review here; CLX96 SAV . While this is just an announcement for the new CLB80 model, plans are currently afoot preparing for the construction of the first unit. The first hull is expected to start construction by the second quarter of 2024. It will be built in composite.
  2. There are a few prominent features that immediately grab your attention with this yacht. Forakis ensured to design eye-catching elements in the design that would resonate with the potential customer. The sky-deck as it is being termed is essentially the regular sundeck with the forward half enclosed and the aft half opened for tender and toy storage of loose outdoor furniture depending on how the owner wants to configure the vessel. A bar as well as barbeque line the aft part of the enclosure on the sky deck while the interior is presented with a myriad of seating for guests to enjoy while underway or at anchor away from the sun's wrath. Connecting the upper deck with the main deck is a 'boomerang' fashion-plate that is a striking statement central to the CLB80's exterior lines. Side-stepping designed windows also add to the visual interest.
  3. Moving over to the interior...the minimalist interior of CLB80 is defined by 'modular FRP pods' which play "a multifaceted role" by framing windows, integrating vanity desks and sofas, and framing the beds. Fluted Oak panels and marble accents are also incorporated throughout. Al fresco areas continue in the beach club which benefits from a TV, bar and configurable table that can be used as a coffee table, dining table or even a beach bed. The standard galley aft configuration will allow for an 'enhanced' dining experience that centers around an electrically operated up-down aft window that connects the interior and exterior with the galley. Construction is due to commence by the second quarter of 2024.
