  1. 24-meter "Mollymawk" Launches At Circa Marine
Circa Marine has launched another yacht. The aluminium 24-meter "Mollymawk" was brought out of the shed and prepared for her splashing. Since then she has been taken to the water floating on her own. Mollymawk is part of the yard's Circa24 series of yachts. As a reminder and if you do not know, Circa Marine is a yard in New Zealand. The name of the yacht may sound odd to many but it basically refers to a type of seabird found in the Southern Hemisphere.
  2. The yacht has been built for an Australian couple who have experience in yachting. Mollymawk has been designed to leave as light a footprint as possible too. Scania D109070M engines are onboard to power her to 13-knots. At cruising speeds these engines are relatively low on consumption. The hull-shape and aluminium construction also helps with the efficiency. You can see some solar panels on the forward portion of the superstructure too, these help create power to her bank of lithium batteries which in turn supplement the power generation options onboard. At 11-knots her range is going to run close to 5,000 nautical miles and she can store 11,000 LT of fuel. Onboard she has just two cabins but they are oversized cabins as requested by the owners. After starting construction in 2019, Mollymawk is going to be ready for delivery in June. The second hull in the Circa24 is presently under construction and will be called "Deo Juvante" according to the yard.
