Despite the CL Yachts formation for the manufacture of series production yachts like the X, C, B and A series, the Cheoy Lee shipyard is still focused on fully custom explorer style yachts. In 2025 at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Cheoy Lee shipyard showcased the 130 Explorer which made its debut at that show. This is the direction that Cheoy Lee shipyard continues to trend in.

The yard also gave insight into their latest class of yachts called the Discovery Series. This series comprises of three models which include the steel-hulled Discovery 115, Discovery 120 and Discovery 127. The higher volume layouts on these vessels make them appealing to clients who are seeking comfortable interiors with the capability of a vessel that has long range and reliability. A bridge-deck master suite on the Discovery 115 to the very spacious beach club on the Discovery 120 and the large sun deck offering with its various amenities on the Discovery 127 showcase the unique draw of each vessel.

Not only does the Discovery 115 offer the volume, accommodations and amenities of a much larger yacht, it also features an owner’s stateroom on the bridge deck, combining eagle’s-nest views with ultimate privacy. The Discovery range is designed by Nick Boksa of Boksa Marine Design in collaboration with Cheoy Lee Yachts. Designed to be a true “pocket superyacht”, the Discovery 115 tri-deck explorer boasts many other features and amenities more commonly found in a yacht in the 130-foot range. These include a sun deck with bar and jacuzzi on the flybridge, captain’s stateroom aft of the pilothouse on the bridge deck, unique forward dining salon served by a huge galley on the main deck, and four spacious guest suites on the lower deck. Like its sibling yachts in the Discovery Series, the 115 also has beach club with wet bar, head and hydraulic swim platform.

The Discovery 120, is the next step in the Discovery series offering a bit more volume than the previous. With classic lines reminiscent of a commercial ship, the Cheoy Lee Discovery 120 boasts a forward-positioned pilothouse for optimal visibility, a low center of gravity for enhanced stability, and a cleverly positioned aft tender. The beach club, nestled inside the transom hatch, adds a touch of safety and sophistication. Inside, the 120 Discovery offers five ensuite staterooms, including a full-beam master on the main deck, a formal salon, and a spacious bridge-deck sky lounge ideal for entertaining.

The largest stablemate is the Discovery 127. There are five ensuite staterooms, including a full-beam, main-deck master. The Cheoy Lee Discovery 127 has everything you would expect to find in a 150-foot steel-hulled mega yacht, expertly engineered into a compact and efficient explorer. The yacht’s center of gravity is intentionally low for comfort at sea, with the tender on the aft main deck rather than the flybridge. The beach club is located inside the transom hatch, which can be closed for safety.
