  1. Cetera Yachts Reveal 'Multispace' Yacht At Boot Dusseldorf
Italian newcomer Cetera Yachts unveiled a new concept at the ongoing Boot Dusseldorf show. It calls for a yacht using what they term as the 'multispace' concept. The first yacht in this range, a 18.28-meter with a 5.5-meter beam is already under construction and expected to be launched and displayed at this year's edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival.
  2. What is the term multispace mean and how is the yard utilizing it? The yard suggests that it is taking the arrangement and layout of smaller yachts and purposing it like on a large superyacht. To achieve this with the size constraints on smaller yachts, they make multispace or multizoned areas to create a 'large' open space. The key with this concept is they do not place the cabins on the lower deck. In fact the designer (Francesco Guida) questioned this practice by other builders. "Why pay a lot of money to live in the basement? Guida said.
  3. The yard came about when a group of the yacht industry's own professionals came together and formed the concept. Part of the group is designer Francesco Guida who penned the yacht's lines. The yard is Fiart Mare who work in fiberglass. The powerplants on the first hull are going to be Volvo Penta IPS 600hp to allow for a high-end speed of 23-knots. Once they get on their feet, they hope to offer a pair of 850 horse power diesels which would push the top-end to 28-knots.
