  1. 31-meter "Sandalphon" Launches At Balk Shipyard
The explorer yacht that was under build at Balk Shipyard in Urk as Project 'Gisele' was launched a few days ago. It isn't a brand new yacht but one that was totally rebuilt. The 31-meter explorer yacht is now called "Sandalphon" and features a light grey hull and white superstructure. The yacht started construction at a Brazilian yard but circumstances led the owner to ship the hull all the way to Balk to complete the build process.
  2. The completed yacht launched on April 20th and is now in the water where she will be prepared for her rounds of sea trials prior to delivery to her German owner. During the rebuild, the yacht was lengthened by a couple meters with a 3-meter midsection and also had the transom extended by around 1-meter. Accommodation onboard features a master suite for the owner as well as a double and two twins. As an explorer she will not be a speedster. In fact, her top speed is only around 12-knots using a pair of CAT C18 engines that are rated at 440 horse power each. They are targeting the end of May into early June for delivery to her eager owner.
