Suri In Marina Del Rey Here Is a photo we shot last week while flying for news in LA. Looks like she will be heading south soon.
Jackpot, We do not allow hyperlinks and our maximum image size is 640 pixels. Your image has been adjusted accordingly. Please refrain from attaching larger photos.
Sorry..Thought I shrank it enough in photoshop...And no more hyperlinks. Thanks for the adjustment and help. JP
Jackpot, just edit and and crop the pics to 640 pixels or a little less. This keeps down the amount of side-scrolling that you get with wider pics. It also helps with the vertical orientation of the page...makes it look nice and neat.
Carl, that was a great review of SuRi. I have to ask, is she a yacht or an escort vessel? I cannot believe the quality finishes onboard, she looks like a yacht and in addition, the versatility of the decks with the ability to switch in and out between applications when needed. Hats off to Stan, incredible stuff, I am thoroughly impressed. Great review Carl.
Can't take credit for the SuRi review. Stan provided extensive information to put the feature together. His attention to detail can be seen in the editorial.
Great review of a great vessel. I also like the nice touch of adding the PP pics of the seas these hulls face in their commercial lives. JH
S/S Suri Stan, The Suri looks great, good job. I'm curious to know at what Shipyard are you doing / did the Suri and Pacific Provider? Anyone know? Thanx
Thank you for all of the kind comments from our YF friends. I used two different shipyards in Seattle both located on Lake Union: Northlake Shipyard and Stabbert Maritime. Stabbert provided a fine steel work team headed by Mike Clinton. All other trades were represented by subcontractors which, like Mike and the Stabbert welders, were managed directly by YES to assure quality, productivity and attention to detail.
Can someone please tell me what in the world happened to "SuRi"? http://media.shipspotting.com/uploads/photos/rw/1093165/Ship+Photo+Suri.JPG
Hi, She went to NZ, underwent a substantial refit and is now out and about cruising again, not sure if she has left NZ yet as last time I spoke with the Skipper they were in Invercargill having had a blast through Fiordland. My brother and I visited the Skipper aboard her while she was in Whangarei at the yard, it was the second time I had been aboard the previous time was when she was in Stans Yard in Seattle. Both times the boat was undergoing a pretty major work period to put it mildly.
SuRi Redux The Owner of SuRi, the YES vessel designed to support his 50 meter Hakvoort JeMaSa, decided that he preferred the comfort, seakeeping stability and abundance of toys on SuRi to his yacht. So, JeMaSa is for sale and SuRi enjoyed another refit. Whereas SuRi was designed with only 3 overflow guest cabins, when they got to the South Pacific; he decided to add additional guest cabins and to enclose his favorite place on board, the "Cigar Deck" located on top of the pilot house. I have received many "what happened" inquiries, but YES had no participation in the 2nd upgrade but the original naval architect, Boris Kirilloff (www.kirilloff.com) provided the new design and engineering. The new cabins are located in the forward top half of the heli hangar. Obviously additional A/C, water making and MSD capability was required. When the Owner is happy, everyone is happy!
As you know "SuRi" at at Bay Ship being lengthed and other works. You can have a look at the 10-meter section that will be inserted to lengthen her. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=596645&l=9872e7c1ba&id=157998807610497 ...and of course here is the official video of her being lifted out of the water. http://vimeo.com/36570058
Video review/runthrough of the latest refit... SuRi refit on Vimeo quite intersting... a serious candidate for the rogues thread imo, but i can defintely see where function really overtakes form and the owner probably looked at himself just spending much more time and having much more fun on suri and saying "screw it" to the "pretty" yacht... I dont think the women in my family would let me do that
