  1. Atollvic, Cognit Design showcase 30M sloop 'Anegada Cay'

Atollvic Shipyard, based in Vigo, Spain, has partnered with Cognit Design, the design and engineering branch of the Totalmar Group on the design of an innovative new 30 meter sloop, "Anegada Cay". The Anegada Cay’s structural design has been carefully considered and the interior arrangements and equipment needed by the owner incorporated into early designs.

Several technical innovations were employed in order to fulfill the required use. For example, canting keels and retractable propellers – race course innovations – have been used on the Anegada Cay to dramatically increase the yacht’s performance. A ballast tank system has also allowed a reduction in draft to enable the vessel to moor up in sheltered anchorages, providing a benefit to the owner wanting to access cruising places only normally available to much smaller boats.

The interior of the vessel is luxurious and comfortable without being overloaded with style elements. Space is maximized, while different zones – for resting, eating, and sailing – are created to ensure it is both practical but also multifunctional. This functionality is assisted by the multi-purpose stern area, which can be configured as an exterior saloon, loading dock, and water access, or even as an exterior pool.

Designer Alberto Fernandez, of Totalmar, said of the Anegada Cay: ‘It has been designed with the discerning sailor in mind and, while inspired by tradition, it features modern and innovative solutions. The result is a performance sail yacht capable of high speeds under sail.’
