    Hi everyone,

I’m an industrial diesel engine specialist working mainly on generator sets, and I’m looking for some technical information regarding an MTU V2000.

There is a small open bore in the engine housing, located above the fuel transfer/delivery pump, on the opposite side of the timing gear area from the coolant pump.

We found dried deposits around this bore which look like coolant residue, and coolant appears to have discharged from this point in the past.

The bore was partially blocked by deposits. After clearing it with the engine stopped, there was a short release of trapped air/pressure, then nothing further.

What I am trying to understand is:

    - Where exactly does this bore originate inside the engine?
    - Does anyone have a sectional drawing showing the internal drain passage through the block?

I have attached pictures showing the exact location and the deposits around the bore.

Any sectional drawing, information, or experience with this specific drain arrangement would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
