    Hi,
I have just signed contracts to purchase a 58 OFFSHORE 1995 with twin MAN D2866LE – 600 hp Engines.
Does any Forum member have any advice, good or bad, about these engines or these boats?
Survey is being done on Monday at Ft. Lauderdale.
Also any shipping advice from US to East Coast Australia?
    Regards,
    Kafue

    Kafue,
I don't have my MAN manuals in front of me, but check the service intervals that MAN suggests and try to see if the servicing was done on those blocks. If the boat has been in Ft Lauderdale, you can probably figure out who maintained them and get a history.
Doockwise will ship from Port Everglades to Australia. I like them better since the yacht is not lifted, but floated on and it sits inside the ship, not on top like the freighters. Do the homework and I think you'll see the difference.

Thanks for the advice Capt Tom.
I am in Fort Lauderdale all next week to go over the boat, hopefully she will pass survey and I can ship her home.
