Just think three months from now yachts will be heading north again going under this bridge.
Was hoping to go under her again on the way to the North Channel this summer... unfortunately the pandemic and border closures may postpone that again...
Here is the Algoma Intrepid 740' stuck in ice for a few hours working her way towards the Mackinaw bridge.
I am really surprised they would push a 740' ship through heavy ice in Lake Michigan
Looks like they are making pretty good headway too.
I hate the sound of ice against the hull. Fun ride on the tugs though. They're cooking. Looks like they knew what the ship's hull could and couldn't take or else it would have been a different story.
