Yes, she left Hamburg in the middle of the night under tow...naturally as her props were apparently taken out.

Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if removing props was a condition of launch.

And it turns out that shafts and props are back on. I guess one can argue it to be a safety thing in case they must urgently move the thing. Anyways, into a floating shed now. Wondering if at the end of the day Usmy will get his boat back - later than expected, but finished.
Then again - good luck docking it anywhere in Europe. Even if he can get it, it’s most likely off to Turkey… Although, if he muds the ownership enough on sisters or so… maaaaaaybe?

Yeah in the latest video you can see the props are installed when she was lifted out the water in the floating drydock.

Watched the whole thing again. Look closely, you can see that props are nowhere near bronze shiny (as one would expect after refurbishing). They look like they were put on without any work done to them. Probably poor video, probably not a big deal, but who knows. How hard would it be to take them off again - for Lurssen most likely not very. I’d expect the seals, shafts and bearings to be serviced tho. If that behemoth is put in water and it leaks, that could get ugly. Props probably isn’t the big deal, but those things are.
Another thing that crossed my mind - how much has Usmy paid up front? If there is seizable down payment for refit (and I would expect Lurssen to ask for it, considering who the owner is), they might not even be in the red on work done. I would think that they are in a bit of loss for stalled work and too long dry dock occupation, but the rest… Another possibility is that the boat is a lot more valuable in one piece than in thousands. If it really is seized, noone will buy it in pieces. If there is even slightest chance that government would try to sell it, it must be complete. But even in one piece, I’d be highly suspicious about sale of this one, considering who the owner is and the expenses involved with this behemoth. I would think that people with money stack big enough would have brains big enough to stay away.
Anyway, this is all speculation, I guess the time will tell.

As you know already "Dilbar" was placed into floating drydock 10.

Pulling shafts and props on a yacht that size is quite the undertaking. Even for Lurssen. It takes a whole team of people to remove them - putting them back in requires lots of technologies and people. I remember watching this happen on a 300'+ yacht I worked on in the late 90's - There were lasers and other tech all happening at the same time. Its not as simple as you think.

I believe a Mein Schiff cruise ship is now in the dry dock that Dilbar was in...which is why she had to be moved.

Dilbar berth number 'A18' in Port Vauban sold according to well-established brokering company that represented the buyer and the seller.

Hard to realize, larger than a Arleigh Burke-class destroyer.

Makes me wonder who purchased it. I guess we will find out in the summer with who docks there.

The Ownership structure of those berths was a sort of lease arrangement with each one belonging to a different company when my boss was looking at one a few years ago.
