Luiz De Basto Striker

In a world of increasingly desirable wants for megayachts, concept designs have been produced by many renowned designers and stylist. One of these is a 101M long concept named Striker designed by Luiz De Basto Designs.

The Striker megayacht is being developed for ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems and said to be constructed by Blohm & Voss in Hamburg, Germany. As said before, for now, the Striker is mainly a concept yacht. The model of this particular design appeared at the recently concluded 2007 Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) under the ThyssenKrupp Marine booth.

Physically, she is a well design concept. The 101M, does not appear boxy as is seen on many other large designs. She features, a semi-sleek overall appearance aided by curved deck edges and rounded decks.

One of the main features of this particular concept that stands out is the existence of a 360 degree 'pilot house' incorporated into the base of the main mast. Semi-circular railed platforms line the port and starboard sides of the pilot house.

Striker is a 101M long, 6 deck large megayacht that features an abundance of exterior space. One of the large exterior spaces is the helipad. The Helipad is large and capable of carrying a large helicopter however the renderings suggest a S-76 and the model suggests a Eurocopter.

Her forward facing decks feature sizable jacuzzis and open space for lounging as these areas appear to be guest oriented. Moving forward, the bow features two very large receptacles for storing tenders. These are covered by flush fitting doors that are to be hydraulically operated.

On the other end of the yacht (the stern), there is a sizable pool located on the main aft deck. It over looks the beautifully arranged stern stairs and the swim platform. As a bonus, the sea is also in view.

Styled access stairs provide an easy passage throughout all the aft decks. On each of these aft decks, tables, chairs, loungers and sun beds are in abundance.

At 101M long, interior space will be bountiful. The interior of the Striker is utilized in various spaces. The spaces include a viewing lounge, sky lounge, large saloons, large veranda areas as well as the accommodation areas.

Accommodation on this yacht will be sufficient to house 16 guests as well as the owner. These guest will have a wealth of space to dwell in enjoy.
