I'm looking at a 1988 68' M/Y that had the "Lauterdale Lady" package installed (presumably by Ft. Lauderdale Hatteras). I was curious of any of our experienced members could comment on this "upgrade"? What it entailed... pros/cons... and any other general information or impressions. I appreciate your time!
Thanks Ken. After a bit more digging, I found this: Extended factory deck that shows in more interior space Circular Stainless steel staircase to the bridge Curved Stairwell from salon to master stateroom Hydraulic fold down mast Designer Curved Glass dining area that wraps around the circular staircase Large Bar to starboard Center rear door to cockpit Expansive full width VIP stateroom 8 AC units 200 gallon additional fuel capacity for long voyages Covington upgraded engine package at 905 HP Built in safe and hidden refrigerator in owners stateroom all cedar walk in Master closet I'm sure the upgrade varies from year to year and model to model. Any idea what is all involved in the "Covington upgrade" for the 12-71's? (And I apologize if this information is readily available and I just don't know where to look!)
I used to run a 75' Hatteras MY 1988 that had Covington 12v71s in it. For some reason it ran an injector timing that was not in the marine section of the DD book, which many dealers insisted setting the injectors to the DD marine setting, the boat would black smoke like crazy. For some reason Covington used a generator setting for these motors. Other than that I don't know what else was involved.
Read an ad that stated that the LAUDERDALE LADY PACKAGE was a $250,000 option, if that helps your decision process.
Thanks! I had seen that too. "In the day", that was a pretty substantial bump (% wise) to the new-boat selling price.
