Yes it was good wasn’t it! But I can’t claim any credit for it. Her webcam refreshes every minute and we just got lucky with that one.

I was also monitoring her progress on the canal’s webcam and was going to capture from there when she came alongside - but it changed direction at the last minute. I could have emailed them and requested a change back but it was late and I needed to get to bed for an early start this morning.

Also, did you notice the number of canal workers on board? There were probably a similar number at the stern, which would be about right for a large container ship, but a bit over the top for a 30 metre yacht! I wonder if it’s about ‘Union Regulations’, or just a bunch of guys wanting to get up close and personal with a classic luxury yacht?

Yes, you get the same number of workers whether you are 30m or 300m. Its the same going through the Suez canal too.

The bit I like is when they try to drag crusty old steel lines through your nice new shiney stainless fairleads and dump it on the teak decks.

Well, more maintainence for the crew!

"Talitha" left Barbados last night and averaged about 11.4 knots or so for the night. She is currently approaching her next destination.

    Land ahoy...anyone recognise this place?

Guess she's waiting to release the brake on the anchor windlass

"Talitha" has an anchor-mate, not sure who she is though, any ideas?

    Hi,

I would hazard a guess that she is anchored in the Tobago Cays general area.

Looks like Taramber, the nice Pendennis from 1991.

Lars, you seem to have an eye for Pendennis yachts. This is not the first time I was asking for an ID and it turned out to be a Pendennis according to your expertise ;)

I can not recall the other, but this was the first boat that Pendennis built. Peter de Savary had Ed Dubois and Terry Disdale designing it and I think she still have the same exotic interior. I have been onboard showing her for potential charterers.

UPDATE, she is today called La Cattiva I found out...

The first Pendennis yacht was designed for a US client with a long history of pedigreed sailboats. Ed Dubois joined the client aboard their 80 Ladd ketch during the America Cup racing in San Diego. Great atmosphere for design culmination. The original yacht was 108' but that client wasn't the one who saw completion of the build.

They just put down the laser into the water. I also spot a PJ150 in the distance... "Oneness" or one of those?

I think the PJ150 is "Four JACKS", I am seeing alot of bronze accents on the vessel...

Interesting Canal passage, when I did it we had our own 4 crew, myself, the pilot and the guys on shore tossed the line with monkey fist to us, if we did not pass up cold pop, you just might get a monkey fist on your head !!!

Seems like she is another one of the Cays. Looks like a small Wesport in front of her...a W98 perhaps?

She is now alongside and has what appears to be the bow of a cruise ship towering over her. That must feel very uncomfortable!

Yep, she is here, just saw her underway heading to anchor out in Carlilse Bay. Why you seen her in the harbout is because she just had return to the island and had to be cleared by the officials.

The bow of the cruise ship is "Ocean Village" at berth 2S. "Talitha" would have been on the "Cross Berth".

Thanks Ron. I think she may also have been off loading her charter party.
