    The Nikon at Jones Beach
    Wantagh NY is hosting Jimmy Buffett the end of August

    I am under the impression he has played here before

    Not knowing the area I am curious if it would be worth the trip down

    Are there raft off's in the bay area during these concerts?

    Jones Beach Theater is on Zacs Bay.

    The Bay becomes crowded during the summer and for the Air Show.

    It is very difficult to hear the music while on the boat and there is no simulcast.

    The audience faces the bay and the performers back is to the bay.

    there is also a standoff area near the sage so you really cant get close enough to hear the music.

    I suppose, if you were anchored in the bay you could take your dingy to the shore and walk to the stadium if you had tickets.

    Having gone to his concert there a few years ago, I'd definately recommend Rt46's method, even if you don't have tickets. Parrotheads put on a major party in the parking lot.:D

    For what it's worth, I'm fairly certain his live shows play on Radio Margaritaville (SiriusXM & the web). There would obviously be a delay.
